Eric Ball was born and raised in the roughest parts of Chicago, Illinois. As a product of the housing projects on the Southside, Eric grew up fast and was exposed to some of life's most challenging situations at a young age.

Visiting home during the summer break from college, his life took a drastic turn when he suffered a gunshot wound to the forehead, causing him to spend several days in the hospital in critical condition. After this traumatic experience, he knew his life was meant to serve a greater purpose.

Following his physical recovery and therapy, Eric continued his education at the historically black college, Langston University, located in Oklahoma, where he would meet some great professors and counselors who encouraged him to excel in life. One professor, Mr. Jim Wallace, became a trusted and respected advisor to Eric for many years until his untimely death. He brought out the best of Eric by pushing him to greatness. “Mr. Wallace became like a grandfather to me,” Eric states. “He pushed and challenged me in life, and I am grateful for the life lessons I learned from him."
